Ask me a month ago and I would have told you yes.
The Broken Series could be finished. It is complete. All the main characters have told their stories. But what about the supporting cast of characters: what are their back stories?
I had every intention that Perfectly Ruined would be the last book in the series, but then I started to think about those other characters and honestly, I think I might not be finished:
I have been thinking about Stacy’s story. Why is she so strong willed, forceful and blunt? Why did she turn to alcohol, what had happened in her past? What made her fall for Kai? Why? When she knew he was a player? Why did she fall in love with the wrong guy?
I have also been thinking about Abbey’s parents. What really happened to Abbey’s father? Why did he turn away from his family? Did he really die?
And how about Alex and Vee, was their love as perfect as it seemed? There is something about this series I just can’t shake.
But, for now, I am finished.
I have some story ideas, that have been waiting patiently on the side lines, these past few years, still to be realised. They keep knocking on the door of my creative mind, reminding me that they are still there, reminding me why I wanted to write them. This usually happens when I suddenly find myself randomly typing out a paragraph, or some discourse between two characters on my phone, in moments of inspiration.
So, what’s next?
My plans in the coming year are to complete and release the two standalone novels I have written. When I say written, I mean, the first round of writing is finished. I have a story, now I need to refine and perfect it, through endless rounds of editing, before sending it to my editor and proofreader.
One is called Carnage. I had promised myself at the start of the year that it would be ready by Christmas. It is based on a true story and I have already organized professional editing for the end of October, so this is the priority. The cover is finished and will be revealed shortly.
The second story doesn’t even have a working title. I have called it Always You, but I don’t think I will keep it. I have written half the book and have planned out the beginning, middle and the end – I just need to fill in the gaps now. It has been an interesting writing process as the story keeps evolving as I write, something that hasn’t happened before, but I am certain it will pack a punch.
Next year, hopefully, I will release this book and at the same time, start and finish the two stories that are just slightly more than ideas at the moment. One has a couple of chapters and the other is completely planned out, I just need to write it, as if it is that simple…
Anyway, rest assured. Whatever happens next, I have a lot more story ideas just waiting for me to find the time to write them, and for you to enjoy.
