Best Romance Reads for Christmas 2019

Writing Blog

The countdown to Christmas is on, and hopefully you will have some time off to spend with family and friends, as well as finding some time to spend on yourself! I am looking forward to some ‘me time’ – reading, one of my greatest pleasures.

I can imagine myself settling down on a comfy sofa in front of a roaring fire with a glass of wine and the snow falling hard outside the window, however the reality will probably be grabbing 30 minutes in between the cooking, cleaning and entertaining the kids with a mug of something strongly caffeinated, whilst the rain falls outside.

Still, I can dream and what better way, than getting whisked away on one of these Christmas romantic fictions. Here are some of the recommended Romance reads for Christmas 2019 based on the Amazon chart.

If none of these stories appeal to you then perhaps check out one of these books:

Christmas at the Beach Hut by Veronica Henry is the number 1 Christmas read from 2018.

The story is “about the real magic of Christmas: reconnecting with your loved ones.”

Or….

The Weekend by Suzy England

This novella is partly set in the week leading up to Christmas and I have actually read this book, so here is my review:

It starts as a fun and exuberant romp, that evolves into a heartfelt and emotive love story that made me fall in love with love, all over again. It is a beautifully written love story told from the point of view of the two main characters Robin Riggs and Clark McCullough.

Robin is a writer and the story is centred around her writing of a weekend, she can never forget. Three unplanned and unexpected days with a man who becomes something more to her than just a random fling.

Clark McCullough is the definition of every girls dream: a successful businessman who is funny, handsome, passionate and endearing. His story takes up when the book is published and he finds himself unexpectedly reading an account of a weekend, he hasn’t forgotten either.

I swooned and then swooned again, I may have even shed some tears. A fantastically, brilliantly written book.
